International Folk Choir Festival Rome
The fourth edition of the Festival "I Castelli Incantati" is aimed at enhancing the value of one of the most genuine music expressive forms, folk song and traditional choral music.
In our globalization times usages and customs, cultural and historical expressions of a country or a region, are the most simple but not less efficient mean to maintain alive the historical heritage of a specific individuality and community.
The Festival, brand new event in this area - Castelli Romani -, will be object of one of the music research projects initiated by the Associazione TRIVIUM MusicaEventiCultura in co-operation with the Associazione Amici della Musica “Cesare De Sanctis”.
Open to choirs of all nationalities the choral festival is a non competitive event having as main goal the understanding of varied music traditions picking out aspects of common roots thus confirming, where still necessary, the highly unifying power of singing and choral music.
In respect of its amateur character an experienced and proved quality standard is required from the choirs in order to enhance the value of the specific choral traditions.
